When I attempt to use this rule, all incoming messages satisfy the rule
although only a few entries are currently in the .pab. The rule works as
expected if I specify each name individually but I would prefer to access the
entire address book within the rule. That way I could add entries without
changing the rule.

I am using a POP3 client if that makes any difference.

PABs are on their way out and no longer supported - usage is discouraged.
Import the contacts to your contact folder and use categories to separate
them. This will allow the rule to work as you desire.

Well okay... It is still an advertised feature and should work.

I placed them in sub folders and that seems to work...so far.

it was an advertised feature of outlook 97. it's available in outlook 2003
only to provide backwards compatibility
