i just installed outlook 2003, and imported old messages from outlook 2002.
but i see the window that pops up when you receive emails and the number of
emails increase in the inbox, but they are actually no where to be found. my
last emails was 12/29/06. i get the error that the server has deteted an
internal error. it sends the same four emails over and over again increasing
the inbox total, but not actually receiving emails. I have already called my
internet provider, but they were unable to help.....What to do?

Never import from a PST. There's no need and you lose data. Open the old
PST directly in Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File.

Without knowing exactly what you did, it would be difficult for anyone to
suggest how to fix it. Moreover, when upgrading from Outlook 2002 to 2003,
it's a good idea to start a new mail profile.
