Outlook 2003, Word 2007

Dave

I have purchased Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 and installed
it on my computer. This package does not include Outlook 2007. I
have still installed on my computer Outlook 2003.

I have Outlook configured to use Word as my text editor and to read
rich-text emails.

When using Outlook to write a new email, the machine gives an error
message and says that it can't find Word 2003, and reverts instead to
the Outlook text editor.

Is there a way to guide Outlook 2003 to utilize Word 2007?

No, that's not possible.

Hi Dave - If you have ticked the box to use Word as your editor, it should
direct it to the Word version installed (it does however say Word 2003).

I have a problem in that when Word is set as my email editor - hen when i
copy and past pictires or logos from old emails, they don't display (only a
large open space and a rectangle when you click on the space). When i use
Outlook Text Editor it works. I cannot figure out why....

No, Outlook can use as its "WordMail" editor only a compatible version of Word. Mixing Outlook 2003 and Word 2007 won't work.

Thanks Sue

Do you have any suggestions as to why i cannot see pictures that i have
inserted into previous emails when i copy them again into a new email?

This only happens when Word 2003 is set as my emai editor.

This is s new problem (new laptop) - on my old laptop, there was no problem.

Sue,

Do you anticipate a patch in future that will allow the use of Word 2007 as
Outlook 2003's email text editor?

No. They have never issued patches to make older versions of Word work with
Outlook and I don't expect they will do the reverse now.
