outlook 2003/word 2002

Since word 2002 cannot work as an email editor in outlook 2003, would it be
better to down grade the outlook to 2002, or upgrade the word 2002 to word
2003. And why? Downgrading the outlook would be less expensive, but would I
be loosing any real benefits?
