Outlook 2003 won't send/recieve email

When I try to send or recieve an email with the
send/recieve button in Outlook I get the following error
message. >> Sending reported error 0X8004010F. The
operation failed. An object could not be found. << A test
message can be sent from the mail setup. Mail goes out
with Outlook Express and Netscape mail. There is a
support article, 312354, that seems to address this. I've
created an account according to this article and still
have no success. MS Office 2003 Small Office came pre-
installed on a new Dell Inspiron 9100. I am outside their
21 day support window and do not wish to sign up for a
year of software support at $189 to solve this problem.
I've even tried re-installing MS Office with no luck in
sending or recieving mail.

Yes, I installed SP2. I may have also have installed an
SP for MS Office also. The one thing I can not confirm
is whether the problem existed prior to to Service Packs
as I did not try to send mail till after the packs were
installed. JLC

If your on a pop account then recreating a new outlook profile should fix
it.
Do you have any firewall or antivirus installed?
If so try removing it
Try outlook /safe
Try clean booting the OS
Goto run and type msconfig
put system in selective start up and uncheck load start up items. goto
services tab and at the bottom of the list "hide microsoft services"
check this
disable the remaining services and reboot.
If this does not work then there are other things that can be tried

You do need to pay 189.00 to resolved the problem
MS direct call is not that much its in the 35.00 US range
