Outlook 2003 won't get email

I posted something about this earlier, but haven't heard from anybody,
so I'll try again.

I'm running Windows XP Pro set up with profiles for two users (my
wife
and myself) and it's currently up to date with all updates. I've just

recently installed Microsoft Office Pro 2003 over Office XP Pro 2002
through Microsoft's automated upgrade installation process. I was
having no problems with Outlook before this and received no error
messages during the installation process. I'm registered and it's now

activated.

When I attempt to use OL 2003, it opens just fine and I'm able to
move
about normally through my calendar and tasks, etc. All of my earlier
folders with all of the previous email messages and posts are intact
and readable.

The problem I'm having comes up when I hit the send/receive button to

check for new email. The taskbar tray icon for Office Outlook lets me

know that "Microsoft Outlook is synchronizing folders", but after 30
seconds or so, I repeatedly receive the following error:

"Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to
close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."

By opening the link "What does this error report contain?" the
following information is displayed:

Error Signature:

AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 11.0.6353.0 AppStamp: 408f2937
ModName: msmapi32.dll ModVer: 11.0.6361.0 ModStamp: 40da1177
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00014382

I'm then kicked out of Outlook. For some reason, I've been unable to
connect to Office Update ("The Office Update site is currently
experiencing some technical difficulties and is unable to check for
updates"), but I did manually download and successfully install
Office
2003 Service Pack 1. My version of Outlook 2003 is 11.6359.6360 SP1.

What's strange is that Outlook 2003 runs just fine and retrieves all
of
my wife's email if she's logged in; the problem is only for my
profile. I was able to configure Outlook Express to get my email for
now, but I still can't use OL 2003 for email at all.
Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

I wondered about this earlier. Will I be able to import all of my old
posts, contacts, folders, etc. from my old profile?
Thanks for responding,
Mark
