Outlook 2003 with Exchange over HTTP

I have a laptop which can access my exchange mailbox over http. I have 2
other users who are not able to connect to the exchange server. All machines
are running Windows XP with SP2. The only difference I can see is that the 2
machines that are unable to connect have a more recent version. Machine that
works has Outlook 2003 (11.8010.6568) SP2. Machine that won't connect is
running Outlook 2003 (11.8010.8028) SP2.

Can anyone advise as to how to get these other machines connected?

Outlook 2003 connects via HTTPS.

Are you using a self-issued or 3rd party SSL certificate to secure the
RPC/HTTPS web server? If self-issued/3rd party, can these other two
machines verify the certificate back to the CA that issued the web server
certificate? (e.g. if they open their browser and type
https://name.of.server, do they get any type of dialog about the
certificate. If they do, then Outlook 2003 will never connect until that
security prompt is solved.)

Outside of that, what happens when these machines try to connect? (e.g. Just
repeats the password prompt? Accepts password but never connects? If
Outlook is started with the /rpcdiag switch, does the dialog show Outlook
2003 trying to connect by revolving thru HTTPS & TCP/IP?)

PS - I have no troubles connecting via HTTPS using build number
11.8010.8028.
