Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager

R

RTS

I have just installed Office 2003 and Outlook with BCM.

Installation goes with no errors, but when starting
Outlook it asks if you want to use BCM with this profile.
Selecting yes starts creating database and returns the
error "database creation failed"

It is running on a standalone PC with Win XP home. User
has adminstration rights.

Anyone have any ideas, please?

I would ask this on the
microsoft.public.outlook.bcm
group.

A reply came from the microsoft.public.outlook.bcm list where I
posted this question for RTS:

We've seen this happen when:
1. The user doesn't have the appropriate permissions to create the database
( the user needs local admin rights to do so)
2. The Windows user profile contains a special character, such as an
apostrophe. (known issue when trying to create the MSDE database)

Hope this helps,
