Outlook 2003 Spellcheck

I bought a copy of MS Outlook 2003 retail w/key for a client today. My
partner told me I had to buy an Office suite that includes Word if the
client wants to use spellcheck. Does Outlook 2003 not have spellcheck
built-in? Thanks in advance!
 
There's a spell checker in OL2003 but it doesn't underline words that aren't
spelled correctly like Word does.
 
I just checked on another computer and you are correct. It does have
spellcheck but just not automatic, as far as I can tell. I had to run
it before sending the e-mail. Guess the Word editor is worth it. Thanks
for your help.
 
Is it not automatic? Do you have to run the spellcheck before sending?

You can enable the option to spellcheck before sending.
Tools>Options>Spelling in OL 2002/2003
