Outlook 2003 setup folders missing

Outlook 2003 stopped opening and gives an error message that it can not find
the setup folders. I couldn't find any other post that talked about the
setup folders, but other non opening solutions say to delete the profile. If
this is what I end up needing to do will I loose information inside of
outlook, mainly my contacts?

Creating a new mail profile and connecting it to your outlook.pst file will
not lose any information if done correctly.
