Outlook 2003- setting homeserver using %logonserver%

Hello,
I'm trying to configure the homeserver setting in my Outlook.prf using the
%logonserver% variable and it won't work. It tries to set the server using
the // with the server name - Outlook XP didn't have a problem resolving
%logonserver%, just Outlook 2003. Any thoughts/suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks.
