Outlook 2003 Send Receive Error

Hi, new to this discussion group, but not new to Outlook, have been using it
for years without any trouble... until yesterday...

I am using Outlook 2003. Yesterday, I downloaded the latest updates from MS.
Since the download, Outlook cannot send and receive. When I open Outlook and
test the account settings, the program cannot 'connect to the incoming mail
server'. Yet, if I do not open Outlook and simply go to Outlook Properties
from the desktop icon, the account settings test perfectly. All the mail
settings are correct. I can access the internet without issue. I can access
my emails via web mail without issue. The problem lies within the Outlook
program. Any suggestions, other than re-installing Outlook?

And if you uninstall the Outlook updates you installed, what happens?

I have resolved this issue by turning off the Firewall on Trend Mircro.
