Outlook 2003 repeatedly asks for email network password

I have Outlook 2003 with XP Pro operating system and Office 2003 Pro
package.

I repeatedly get a popup window asking for the network password every
time Outlook checks on messages. I have checked the "remember
password" box in Tools and on the box every time it pops up.

Nothing seems to help.

What can I do to stop this problem?

have you checked also the automatic send/receive time?
Set it to 15 Minutes. If this not solve your problem,
