Outlook 2003 - Reminders on Items in Sub Folders

Recently my boss was having problems with Outlook 2003 Reminders not
working properly and after some digging I had found some mention that
reminders may not work on items in sub folders, though I can't seem to
find anything Official from Microsoft that documents this fact. Can
anyone point me to an official Microsoft statement for this fact so I
have some grounds on recommending a 3rd party solution, otherwise I
will be expected to solve the problem myself without the 3rd party add-
in.. and I'm guessing this will be near impossible.

reminders only fire on default folders in outlook 2003 and earlier.

I have no idea if there is anything "official" on this - its been this way
forever though. yes, it will be impossible to write your own tool - the
solution is to use the default folders or upgrade if the boss won't use
reminder manager.

Thanks for the info Diane!

its a bit scary that Outlook still allows you to create a reminder on
sub folder items. Definitely an issue if you wanted to be reminded
about something fairly important... maybe you had a subfolder where
you stored your domain renewal reminder and SSL certificate emails,
etc, etc.

It sounds like this 'undocumented feature' has been resolved in
Outlook 2007?
