Outlook Outlook 2003 Recurring Appoinments Problem

We seem to be having a problem when someone additional is invited to a recurring appointment which has already started in the past. The Outlook refuses to send an email notification with the error "Outlook has encountered and unknown Error "

Has anyone seen this error ?
