Outlook 2003 problem

Whenever a contact is updated it is not updating the distribution list with
the new information. Also inside th distribution list it is showing a very
simplified card for the contact like it is not connected to the contact list.
If i add a new contact or remove and recreate the contact in the list it
shows it correctly in the list with the card image and a little head on it.
But a day or so later it reverts back to the simplified version. The contacts
folder is about 1000kb in size . We are using exchange and the distribution
list contains addresses for both inside our domain as well as outside. (50 or
so contacts in the list). Any help is appreciated. Also already on the latest
service pack for office

That's because DLs are not dynamic objects. You must remove the old member
and add in the changed member.

It's not connected.

I don't know what you mean by this.

What i mean is the contact in the distribution list is acting like it is not
connected back to the contact in the contact list. Even the contact index
card on the left hand side is not the normal image for a contact card.
Normally there is an index card with a little head on it showing it as a
contact, instead the image is of just the index card. When you double clik on
the card all you get is very simple information like name and email address
and type. Where as before when you double clicked it you got the whole
contact information just like opening a contact in contacts all the tabs and
everything were there and now they are not. Also if i make a change to the
original contact like if the email address changes then the distribution list
is not updated with this new information
