outlook 2003 problem

I'm running Outlook 2003 with XP home edition.

Everything was working just fine until I looked at the Office update and
decided to download updates and add-ins.
I installed some programs that were supposed to be for outlook like
hotmail-connector-something and something about locations or maps... They
were all form the Microsoft Office Webpage.
I don't remember exactly what they were, because as soon as I started to
have trouble, I uninstalled them.

New message: "the messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the
problem persists, restart Outlook"
Tools->email accounts: "the operation failed due to a registry or
installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists,
please reinstall"
When I try to send a word document (file->send to->mail recipient) it works
but does not show any SEND button.

I tried to repair the installation with the Office CD.
I reinstalled.
Uninstalled and installed again.

I used the Help->Detect and Repair. I used the Inbox Repair Tool
(Scanpst.exe) which found a problem the first time and fixed the problem, but
at the next use of Outlook, there it was, the same problem. When I run this
tool again, does not find errors anymore.

All the other Office programs seem to be working just fine.
