I have a client running Outlook 2003 that comes up with an error whenever it
is exited:
The instruction at "0x35f844d8" referenced memory at "0x35d5a170". The
memory could not be "read"

This error pops up constantly on the exit of Outlook, apart from the
occasional time when Outlook shuts down and sends an error report.

Outlook Version: 11.8217.8221 SP3
Windows update: All critical updates installed
Antivirus: AVG free, up to date.

I have not found this error anywhere else on the web apart from a spanish
blog.

There are no other errors on his system, just this one.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Justin

Did this client ever load Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")
which does not load any installed add-ons for Outlook? This would check
if the client is using an incompatible add-on.

Thank you for the response VanguadLH.

No, he doesn't. However, I will try that the next time I am on-site. He is a
very basic computer user though, so I doubt that he has many / any add-ons.

I would appreciate any other insights you, or anyone else can come up with.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Justin. I have the same problem in Outlook 2002. Same message - just
different adresses. I have tried to repair Outlook from the Office CD but no
luck. Please let me know if You find the fault. It is very annoying.

Hello Justin. I have the same problem.
I've been searching and I found that the problem occurs in computers with
AVG Free Antivirus installed.

It sounds like the problem was/is caused by a corruption in the Windows .NET
Framework.
It will be nice if someone at Microsoft confirms this, and propose some easy
solution.

Hello Justin. I have the same problem.
I've been searching and I found that the problem occurs in computers with
AVG Free Antivirus installed.

I noticed that the new AVG V8.5 has added at least one false positive too,
finding a trojan in the Divx installer where none exists. Prior to V8 of AVG
I never had a problem with that software, but since that time, there have been
several issues.

Thank you for answer Brian.
I have another questions regards the solution that is propose for this
problem by AVG people.
How can I uninstall all Microsoft .NET Versions and service packs and
reinstall them?
Is it correct the procedure that they tell us for doing this?
Do you have another?
Thanks and forgive my english.

Add/Remove Programs, perhaps? I really don't know the definitive answer to
this.

I didn't read it.

Outlook 2003 memory error might occur due to PST file corruption issues. So, you can go for scanpst.exe download but if that does not help then PST Repair tool can be opted for to completely repair corrupt PST files.
