Outlook 2003 - Mail moved to "Deleted Items" is kept for 1 day ?

Hello all, I am working with Outlook 2003 connected to an SBS/Exchange 2003
server. The problem I am having with mail I delete from my inbox. Once I
do this it goes into Deleted Items and will stay there for about 1 day and
then it gets "purged" . I can then find the mail item in "Recover Deleted
Items"

Things I have checked:

- Outlook must notify me before emptying Deleted Items (which it never does
on startup or shutdown)

- Outlook is not set to clear items out of Deleted Items
- Auto Archiving is turned off

Any ideas?

Perhaps your Exchange admins have something that is clearing the Deleted
Items folder. Did you ask?
