Outlook 2003 - Journals and office 2000

I have tried to use these 2 together but can not get word or excel
to appear in the journals with automaticly record ticked in options

I believe all versions of Office apps have to match to do this - same with
Word as email editor, send mail from Excel/Word, etc, use mail merge.
