After my computer crashed, I had to reload all my software. Unfortunately, I
realized too late that I could not Upgrade to Office XP Pro from Office XP.
I, therefore, had to uninstall it and install Office 2000 Pro, upgrade to
Office XP, and then Outlook 2003. In the process, I lost my Outlook Icon. I
had this problem once before put I cannot remember what I need to change in
the registry see my icon. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Appreciate the help but I am already doing that. It just looks tacky and is
out of it's usually location.

Create this registry key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
and have DWORD
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu\{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
not as 0.

Alternatively, use Powertoys/TweakUI.

Thanks for the informtion. Do I modify the first registry key with DWORD?
Second, I am not sure if I am to add the registry key to your second
suggestion. If so, I do not understand the reference to not as 0. Please
elobarate.

Michael,

For some reason, it worked without adding anything else to the registry.
Thanks for your help.

Upgrading from Outlook 2002 to 2003 removes the icon. There used to be a KB
article describing this and the fix posted by Mr. Bednarek, but I can't find
it any more.
