When attachments are opened from within Outlook 2003, the application usually
hangs. We have done detect and repair, have all of the updates done, etc.
but cannot find or fix the cause. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Exchange server? Do you use roaming profiles or have mapped network drives?

We're on an Exchange server. I have no idea what roaming profiles are. Sorry.

We have serval machines with Office 2003 that act the same way. We use a
POP3 server, not exchange. All of the machine had been purchased with Office
pre-loaded. All are up to date on updates and servel on several we have
formated the HDs and reloaded XP and Office 2003. That doesn't sovle the
problem.

Outlook 2003 on a brand new laptop- hangs. Hangs when downloading email, or
reading email, or opening email or when I think of Outlook it hangs.
Microsoft offers no help, neither does my manufacturer. Help! I use this
program for business and personal and can't use it! What do we all do?

I feel your pain, but haven't been able to find a solution. I'm think of
switching our three hundred MSOffice users to another product to solve this
problem.
