Outlook 2003 Hangs- Event ID 2002

I have a user who when he opens Outlook 2003 it just hangs. Nothing responds,
and you have to close it by either right clicking on the taskbar and clicking
on close, but if you open Task Manager Outlook.exe is still running. There
are no other errors that pop after Outlook closes. I have tried repairing,
completly un-installing and re-installing Office 2003, running system restore
(all restore points fail), deleting extend.dat etc with no sucess. The only
error that shows up in the event log is Event ID 2002: "The MOF File created
for the Outlook service could not be loaded."

The user is running Windows XP SP2 with Office 2003 SP2. Office 2003 is
pushed thru Group Policy. If anyone could help it would be appreciated, as I
am one step away from a complete reinstall.

Hello,
I am starting to also see this on my network... I have symantec corp edition
version 10.1 and I am running win xp sp2 with all the updates and office 2003
sp2 with all the updates...

The problem is sporatic... I have the problem on 3 of my 40 pc's that all
run the same software. It seems to be getting worse at the rate of 1 per
week... I restart the pc to resolve the issue and then it is ok for a while.

Thoughts?

I did this today and it works. I have a Dell PC and today is the first time
that I can actually use my Dell PC w/ Outlook 2003.

uninstall the software called "OutlookAddin." It is made by Cyberlink
for Dell and it is known to cause a lot more issues then just this. It
causes a lot of performance overhead as well.
