Using WinXP Pro SP2. Installed Office 2003 Basic Edition. When I start
Outlook 2003 it loads up but then gets stuck. I get a frame with the message
"Outlook.Exe - Bad Image" Followed by: "The application or DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msidntld.dll is not a valid image. Please check this
against your installation diskette"
I dont seem to find an answer in the KB. can anyone help? Thanks.

Outlook 2003,

Start up one of the office apps and go to Help and do a Detect and Repair,
which should, iirc, repair all office applications.

Also, is that DLL actually in the location specified?

I did verify that the DLL was in the specified location. so i renamed it
..old. Then following the suggestions from DL's kb/249893 found it in the XP
installation dis and expanded to its location on the hard disk and tried to
register the file. it did not let me do that but I decided to turn off the
machine and restart it later.
After rebooting I checked the register and the dll file appeared registered.
Then I followed your suggestion on detect and repar and it seemed to do the
trick since now all programs in the Office 2003 work well.
Thanks to both of you for all suggestions and work out solutions.
