Outlook 2003 Freezes when replying to or forwarding any e-mails

I am running Outlook 2003 SP2 and it has suddenly begun to freeze and become
unresponsive whenever I try to repy to or forward any e-mails. I must shut
the application down through the task manager.

-I have used the detect and repair tool - no improvements
-I have done a thorough virus scan with my McAfee which is current and
updated - no viruses were found and no improvements
-I have run a thorough anit-spyware scan with Ad-Aware which is current -
still no improvements

This has rendered the application useless to me. It seems like after the
last big office updates I have experieced all kind of quirks with the
application but this one takes the cake!

Any help will be greatly appreciated I hate to uninstall.

Are you scanning incoming/outgoing mails with antivirus? Disable that, it
won't compromise your security. Also, how often do you have Outlook set up to
poll for mail? Try setting it for 10 minutes.

Thanks Kathleen I did as you suggested and rebooted with no success. When I
try to repy or forward a message it starts to open up but then freezes.

Kathleen I decided to try not using Word as my email editor when the other
suggestions did not work. This works I can now reply and forward mail. That
raises another question though why? I have always used work as my email
editor. I have been getting several of those normal.doc errors when using
word so I assume there is an issue with Word not Outlook.
