Outlook 2003 errors at migrating settings

We have Win 2003 small business server at work. I installed Outlook 2003 at
home so I could check work email. Use OE for personal mail. I can get eh
account set up and it connects to our exchange server (over VPN) but I
receive the following error when opening outlook and then after clicking OK,
Outlook closes:

"Unable to open your default email folders. You must connect with your
microsoft exchange computer with the current profile before you can
synchronize your folders with your offline folder file."

Any assistance is MOST appreciated.
