Outlook 2003 email first letter of line

David

the first letter of every line is being capitalized. Why?
Where do I go to turn it off? I read the previous post
and followed instructions but the first letter of each line
in all of my emails is Capitolized. Help and thanks. Word
is the default editor if this makes a difference.

Are you hitting return at the end of every line? Why?

What steps did you follow to fix it?

Thank you FH for your prompt response. A previous
post said to go to Tools, Spelling, AutoCorrect Options.
I've unchecked the box "Capitalize the first letter of sentence."

And yes, I hit return when I want to start a new line. I prefer
shorter sentences, say around 40-50 characters so
I do hit the return for a new line. As you can see, in this
environment, my response to you didn't capitalize the first
letter. Your assistance is appreciated.

To be pedantic, that's not a shorter sentence, that's a shorter line.

Do you have Word set to be the email editor?

Yes, WORD is set as my default email editor?

Try making sure Word is configured to not capitalize the first letter as
well.

I've done that as well. I'm using Word 2003 and I've searched everywhere
for the problem / setting. Any other suggestions?

If you are having a problem with Outlook capitalizing the first letter of
a new line, I worked out the solution.
1. Go to file
2. Options
3. Mail
4. Edit Options
5. Autocorrect
6. Uncheck capitalize first letter of sentence. I know this doesn?t sound right, but this has to be turned off to get rid of the problem. Apparently Outlook treat all letter that start on a new line as the first letter in a sentence.
