I have outlook 2003, SP2,
on a win xp laptop with 1.5 gig of ram, 12 gig of hd.

I run the shield deluxe 2008 as virus software.

I use mail washer for spam emails.

when I try to download email. outlook downloads very slowly or not at all.

I get duplications of emails in the multiple,

I have shut down the virus software thinking that is the problem, no joy
same thing.

I have shut down and rebooted to clear cache, no joy still same thing.

what am I missing to resolve this issue.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

Sometimes it is neccessary to uninstall any AV software that may have been
intergrated with Outook to properly remove the plugin
Youve also tried the simple expedient of Detect/Repair in OL?

I have removed the anti virus software and tried the detect and repair
function.

at first when I removed the anti virus I thought that I had resolved the
issue. but not just momentarily fixed then it hung up again.

I have made sure all service packs for office are installed.

any similar programs to outlook at there with same function and use. this is
killing me.

thanks

Take Mailwasher out of the picture while you try to diagnose the problem.
It adds unnecessary complexity to the issue.

I have taken mail washer out of the loop,
I have stopped all rules and alerts.

I have rebooted and started outlook.

the program is downloading emails. somewhat slow. but I attribute that to
the volume and size of email.

so it seems we may have some rule conflicts that are causing the issues. at
this point I can use mail washer to scrub the junk and spam emails.

I am not entirely certain that this resolved the issue. but will monitor it
for a few days and see how it goes.
