Outlook 2003 drops connection to ISP when switching XP users, this didn't happen before upgrading to Office 2003. Any idea's appreciated

You've provided no information.
Define what you mean by switching users.
Define the mail account types and connection types set in Outlook.

I mean start - log off -switch users (XP)
They're POP/SMTP accounts using dial up access.
It has worked well in the past?

"Dial up access" is not a connection type you can specify for your mail
account.
Which did you specify?

It is a single dial-up account at a local Internet service provider (ISP) and a 56-Kbps modem. Is this what you mean?
I used to be able to to establish a connection logged in to XP as user A, then leaving the connection up switch users to user B and download mail from the same provider but a different email account. This would allow me to dial in just the once.

No, no, no and no.
I asked what you specified when you set up the mail account. Just look and
see if you don't remember.
