outlook 2003 cause of computer overheating

every time I turn on my outlook it sends the fan into overdrive and my
computer overheats radically! What do I do? I have already reduced my
emails substantially. Deleting from my sent file, inbox and deleted email
file.

When you open Task Manager and select the Processes tab, how much CPU is
outlook.exe using?
How many graphs are listed at the top?

Does it work correctly in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe
(note the space in the command)
