Outlook 2003 Archiving

Does anyone know of a good source for material on how Archiving works in
Outlook 2003? I have been archiving messages only to find that much of the
mail left in my inbox to be archived is not in the archive! Looking for
simple yet accurate instructions on archiving, any help is appreciated.

The Microsoft Knowledgebase is a good source for material and it would tell
you that items are archived based on modified date, not the received date.
If you'd like to see the modified date, add it to the header line using the
field chooser.

Brian - thanks for the input. The problem is that the messages were gone
from my inbox but were not being put into the inbox in the archive - the
messages were just gone.

That's not what you said originally. You said:

"Left in my Inbox" clearly means it's still there. Check Outlook's main
archive settings (Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchve) to make sure they're
correct, and check the AutoArchive tab on the Inbox properties dialogue to
make sure those settings are correct as well. Make sure you're not
filtering the Inbox and that you're sorting by a field other than Received.
