Outlook 2003 - Any way to get rid of the Favorite Folders section of the Navigation Pane

I'm assuming by "navigation pane" you mean the Outlook Bar? If so
right-click on the unwanted item, and choose "remove from Outlook Bar"
 
That doesn't work. Right clicking "Favorites Folder" does not give any options

I would also like to know how to get rid of it.
 
You can't remove it from the Navigation Pane. Use a different view if you
don't want to see it, like Folder List.
