All,
To combat spam, I have a single inbox in exchange ([email protected]) but
with a million alias that are all in Active Directory (we have a page set up
where a user can modify his or her own alias entries in AD). Everytime I
register with a website (like Amazon.com), I create a new alias (such as
(e-mail address removed)). I only have to check one inbox because all my mail
goes there. I never give out the (e-mail address removed) account only the
aliases. Therefore, if I ever start getting spam, I can kill the alias and
voila, no more spam and I remember not to use that website that so badly
gave away my email info (or reregister if it was a useful website).
However, when sending out an email, it uses the xyz@somedomain account and
some people have started using it and I would rather they not. Previously
when using Outlook Express and a pop/imap server with multiple aliases, I
created many profiles for the other aliases in OE, and just never had them
check for mail. Then when I sent an email, the From box had a dropdown and I
could pick which of the profiles and email addresses I wanted to send from.
I am not sure how to do that in Outlook 2003 and if possible in OWA on
Exchange 2003.
