Outlook 2003 and Activesync 3.7.1 Incompatible??

I am having difficulty synchronizing an HP Jornada 560 PDA with
Outlook 2003. I am using the latest version of Activesync.

The connection between the computer and the PDA is made but it won't
synchronize.

The error message I get is:

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client
cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office
Outlook and set it as the default mail client."

I believe that Outook is set as my default email client (done in
Options - Other).

It worked fine when I was using Outlook 2000.

did you do a detect and repair in outlook? if AS was installed before
Outlook and you upgraded, create a new profile in outlook - if that doesn't
help, reinstall AS.

AS was installed after Outlook. I have a new computer and I installed
Office 2003 before I installed any other software.

I did as you suggested and ran Detect and Repair - it worked!!! My PDA
functions as it should.

You're a treasure, Diane
