Outlook 2003: A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf.

Hello,

I have a friendthat uses Outlook 2003 without Exchange server. He connects
to his ISP to send and recieve mail. He has a third party application that
sends out email mesages to a client list. He gets the following message:

"A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf."

All of the information that I can find on the MS site says that this
behavior can be altered by modifying configuration settings on the Exchange
Server and using a custom Public Folder. He isn't using Exchange Server.

Is there any other way to overcome this "security fix"?

Thanks,

Sue,

I am a software developer and am willing to write a tool for my friend to
use for his mailings. What specifically be done to avoid the prompts?

Thanks for your time. You are very knowledgable. I remember you and how
active you are in the Outlook/Exchange community from when I was doing
Exchange Dev in another life.

Sue,

I am a C# developer. Does C# not intergrate with Extended MAPI?

For a quick workaround, I found the following program that helped this guy
out:

http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html

It basically answers the dialog with "Yes". Guess it is like a send keys
utility. Maybe some of your clients will find it useful.

Thanks,

Josh

No. Extended MAPI is not available to .Net languages. Redemption would work,
though.

We have listed Express ClickYes for years on our web site. For many
applications, it is not a viable solution, because it does nothing about the
5-second delay for each Send command.
