Outlook 2002 send/recieve window

When I pull up the send/receive window there is a little thumb tack in the
lower right corner, what does that do? Thanks
 
If you click the thumbtack to "push it in", the send/receive window will
remain on screen after the operation completes. Click it again to "pull it
out" and the screen will vanish.
