Outlook 2002 POP issue

Using Outlook XP with an exchange server recently upgraded to Exchange 2003.
One client using Outlook XP had an additional POP3 account set up that no
longer works for some reason. We have double verified the settings and they
are correct. Outlook express works fine with the same settings on the same
PC.

If you use the "Test Account Settings" button from within Outlook
(Tools->Email Accounts...) it fails with "specified server was found but
there was no response..." for both the POP and SMTP.

Funny thing is if you perform the same "Test Account Settings" from the Mail
control panel it works!

I've duplicated this on 2 Outlook XP clients (Version 10.6515.6735 SP3).
Outlook 2000 and Outlook express work fine.

Any ideas?

Thx

Do you have any sort of firewall program that might be getting in the way?

The windows firewall is turned off. Another thing that changed with our
server upgrade is we now use ISA 2004 server instead of the old MS Proxy
2.0. I don't see anything wrong there because Outlook express and
Thunderbird work fine on the same PC and other PC's running Outlook 2000
with the same ISA client work fine.

Some sort of issue in OL2002 that only showed up after the upgrade???

Can you telnet to the server in question over port 110 on that machine?

Also, is the firewall client set to allow programs or ports through... or a
mixture of both?

Outlook express works on the same machine to the same email server so I
don't expect this won't work.
