Outlook 2002 new account creates separate folders

We have a customer using Outlook 2002 (as part of Office 2002) under Win XP
home edition. They moved from dialup and Netzero to DSL and MSN and setup
their Outlook account incorrectly (it couldn't log onto the mail server and
download mail). We deleted that account and created a new one which works
just fine. However...
For some reason Outlook didn't use the default Personal Folders for Inbox,
Sent Items , etc. that are created by default, it created a separate group
of folders called (e-mail address removed) . Now there are 2 sets of Inboxes,
ect. and it puts mail in the new one not the default ones under Personal
Folders. This is very annoying for the customer even though he can now send
and receive mail just fine.

I'm not sure why this happened but is there an easy fix?

Thank you in advance for your help.

This is normal behavior for MSN accounts. The default Inbox, etc. would be used only if you were adding a POP3 account (which MSN is not).

Have you installed the Outlook Connector for MSN? IIRC, it allows you to use the MSN folders as the default data store. (Unfortunately, I don't have an MSN Premium account to test with.)
