Outlook 2002 Modem or LAN, flip a coin

Can anyone please help me to determine why things have
changed and what to look for or what to reload for the
following problem:
I have two settings under e-mail accounts for my outlook
2002. One is for connecting to a modem via worldnet while
I am on the road and the other is a LAN connection for
when I am at work and using a docking station. For some
reason my machine has suddenly decided to take a hike
while attached to the LAN and wants to look for a phone
connection. As a result it will not connect via the LAN
and I cannot get hooked into my e-mail account. If I
connect the machine to a phone line, and select the dial
up connection, it works just fine. None of the settings
have been changed so I assume that I am going to have to
reload something....the question is what? YES, the LAN
connection works well after all, I was able to write this
wasn't I. Please help before I am forced to admit defeat
to my co-workers and switch away from microsoft products
altogether.

Have you installed any software lately? I had a similar problem on my home
machine after installing some software from my ISP to do pop-up blocking,
etc. It somehow messed up my networking configuration so that, despite the
fact that I had a broadband connection, all access prompted for a
non-existant dial-up account. Uninstalling the offending app didn't fix it,
and I eventually just reformatted my drive and reinstalled Windows and
Office....
