Outlook 2002 is creating doubles of all emails, how do I solve?

Outlook 2002 is creating doubles (or quadruples in some case if spam makes it
through) of all emails. I didnt have this problem with Outlook Express but
the company has moved to Outlook and after several weeks of use, started
creating doubles. I'm not having any luck even with the latest updates
loaded in solving this problem. I have already checked at our providers
server and they are not doubled at the server level, just when they come into
Outlook.

If you have an AV scanning incoming and/or outgoing mail, disable it. It is
99.99% of the time the problem.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
