Outlook 2002 freezes when adding attachments

Does anyone have a solution for this? I have XP prof with all updates. And
all updates to office. Sometimes it does not freeze if I add attachment
before I input anything else. But most times it does. Does not seem to
matter which folder either. Running Trend Micro Antivirus. PLease help!

Yet tried loading Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") which
does not load any add-ons that you installed for Outlook?

Also check what happens when you disable the superfluous e-mail scanner
in the anti-virus program.
