outlook 2002 blocked attachments

Usint Windows xp Pro with Outlook 2002. I sent myself a e-mail from work
with a file I wanted to install on my home computer. Outlook blocked the
attachment as an offensive .exe. How do I get access to the blocked file?

G'Day Jay,

It would be a good Idea to ZIP the file before sending it, and
un-zipping it on receipt - that's all you really need to do!.

However, control of attachment blocking can be achieved by
installing the "Attachment & Security Options" addin that can be
downloaded FREE at http://www.slovaktech.com/ - the web
page also has a clear description of how to use it, so perhaps
you might print a copy for reference.

The quickest and easiest way may be to just rename the file from "file.exe"
to something like "file.txt" before you send it and then rename it back to
"file.exe" when you receive it. That way you don't permanently open a
security hole on your home PC by using software or editing the registry to
bypass it. Unless you don't have a wife or kids who will open something they
shouldn't. :)
