outlook 2002 backup, i can't open my backup file, pathway probs

hi
can someone help me i am a new user with outlook and i have been archiving
the information. however when i try to open the archive file via windows
explorer it does not autmotically open up and the icon is not a microsoft
icon. a friend says that i may not be creating a pathway so the file is not
saved in the correct format.

can someone help??
 
The outlook archive file is a pst file that can only be opened within OL
Within OL, File>Open>Personal Folders and browse to the location of the
archive
