Outlook 2000 won't open

Mike

I can't get past the Outlook welcome screen, meaning I
can't see any folders or anything. I believe my pst file
is too big but I can't delete old e-mails until Outlook
opens. I have done the inbox repair tool several times
and nothing has worked. Suggestions?

It's possible that could be your problem. Problems usual start around 1.4
GB.
1) Search for outcmd.dat and extend.dat (hidden files). Rename each .old and
see if Outlook will run now.
2)See if Outlook will open in safe mode Start>Run "outlook.exe /safe" (sans
quotes. If it will, try Running "Detect and Repair from under help.
3) There is a tool that "snips" chunks out of your pst to get it reduced in
size. You might have to try that. Check out this article at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=296088 It explains it and has a link to
the download.
