outlook 2000 takes ages to load uses 280,000,000 memory

outlook 2000 takes forever to load. hogs cpu whilst loading at 99%. tried
loading office 2003 but just the same. deleted office 2000 and reloade still
the same. something is in there somewhere. all virus testing shows nill

Outlook on its own doesn't use that amount of memory; something else must be
loaded too.
How much memory is being used when you start Outlook in Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Additionally;
Do you have all updates applied? What is your version number? Help-> About
What mail account type are you using?
