Outlook 2000 SP 3

I use Outlook 2000 SR (9-0.0.) and tried to upgrade to SP 3.When I tried
to install the upgrade I get an error message: The expected version of
the program was not found on your computer. and stops extracting. The
other MS programs I run are part of Office 2003. How can I upgrade ?

Is Outlook patched to the level that SP3 will work? It may be that the
version is not sufficient because there are missing patches/hotfixes, etc.
