Outlook 2000 saves unsent messages to "Inbox not "Drafts"

Why does my Outlook 2000 save my unsent messages to
the "Inbox" not the "Drafts" folder? Wth Netscape
Messenger I was used to having a drop-down menu or button
that provided me with a positive option: "Save As Draft".

But with Outlook there appears to be no such option. One
is expectected to have faith that if one closes a message
without saving it, it will be saved. But often---not
always---Outlook saves my unfinished messages to the
Inbox" rather than the "Drafts" folder.

Would someone explain?

Thank you.

Under tools | Options | Preferences tab |Email Options
then Advanced Email Options you must select Drafts not
Inbox in the drop down menu

Thank you, but that is the problem: I HAVE
selected "Drafts" at the site you laid out. That is what
is so frustrating. Would you suggest something else that I
may be doing wrong?

Often it seems arbitrary or at least capricious as to
where Outlook saves the unsent messages---
sometimes "Drafts", sometimes "inbox". And "inbox" is
definitely not selected as the folder to which unsent
messages are saved.

Thank you.
