Outlook 2000 IMO archive problem

I have a few PC's with Outlook 2000 (IMO) which cannot archive messages.
I'm trying to kick off archiving manually via the file menu. When I select
archive and provide a date, the arching icon appears on the bottom right of
the screen for about 5 seconds and then it stops. Nothing is archived.
Other than that, Outlook works fine.

The only thing I can think of if that these PC's/users were recently
converted from Outlook Express. Could these messages be marked differently
so that archive doesn't work? Just a wild guess.

Any help would be appreciated.

I found the problem. Archive uses the modified date instead of the email
received or sent date. In my case, I had imported all of the messages from
Outlook express which changed the modified date of every message to the same
day.

I guess I'll have to wait a while to use the archive function.

This seems like an opportunity for Microsoft to modified Outlook to use the
actual email date as the modified date during the import function.

Just a suggestion.

If you export from Outlook Express to Outlook, the received date, at any
rate, is retained. I haven't tested to see what the modified date becomes.
