Outlook 2000, how can I troubleshoot for corrupted files

No problems with Office Professional 2000, Out look has gotten very slow and
is difficult to open. Outlook is a very important business for our small
business. How can identify what the problem is?
 
Check the size of the data file, the file has a size limitation
Depending what size, if less than 1.2gb try scanpst.exe, the repair tool, on
the data file
