Outlook 2000 Hanging on Load in XP

After using Office 2000 for 1.5 yrs with WINXP without problem, it has begun
hanging for minutes at a time at startup. I have XP SP2 as well, but problem
did not appear for 3 months after that dnload. Have uninstalled and
reinstalled Office without affect. Once Outlook starts, it loads over and
over again just fine, so it is just the initial timeafter startup that hangs
for 5 to 10 minutes. I run a clean machine with antivirus and firewall,
adware/spyware scans. Appreciate any assistance. Thanks

Close Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and system folders.)

Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. When it becomes corrupted, it will cause
Outlook to hang because it cannot create the toolbars that you expect.
